Help ensure no senior is left behind. Meals on Wheels Yuba & Sutter Counties is a proven non-profit partnership that effectively addresses the challenges of aging by promoting health and improving quality of life for our most vulnerable older adults.
The onset of the pandemic saw an influx of funding, doubling support to address increased demand. However, this funding is receding while the community need is not. And, our program is struggling.
Our program is facing challenges to serving to serving home-delivered meals and restaurant meals to all older adults in Yuba & Sutter Counties due to:
- LACK OF FUNDING TO PAY FOR MEALS
- DIFFICULTY RECRUITING AND RETAINING VOLUNTEERS
- RISING FOOD PRICES
- DIFFICULTY RECRUITING AND RETAINING LOCAL STAFF
- ESCALATING GAS PRICES
- ADDING OLDER ADULTS ON WAITING LISTS
- DISCONTINUING OR CUTTING BACK OUR SERVICES
